Campaign Monitor wants to lure developers away from Mailchimp

Campaign Monitor wants to lure developers away from Mailchimp

Campaign Monitor wants to win more of the valuable email market away from Mailchimp’s Mandrill service with its new transactional email platform.

The company now provides an API that developers can take advantage of to send bulk, customized emails to customers for automated tasks like password reset or shopping cart abandonment.

You’ll be able to use Campaign Monitor’s existing design tools to customize the email, then trigger them from the API.

Unlike Mandrill, Campaign Monitor is including its platform in its existing plans for its users and touts big customers from day one, including Buzzfeed and Reddit.
