Dropbox for Android gets Material Design and space-saving direct photo uploads

Dropbox for Android is finally getting a Material Design makeover today, as well as some new features to make the app easier to use.

First off, Dropbox has added a floating action button to folders that allows you to take photos that are saved right into that directory location, making sharing new images with friends and coworkers a more seamless experience. These photos don’t go onto your phone’s storage either, so you save some space on your camera roll.

Dropbox is also putting all your file and folder controls – including sharing, favoriting, moving and renaming – on the new info pane, which will also provide more information such as modification dates and shared folder members.

Finally, a new time-saving feature: you can also now just swipe left or right to browse through your folders.

The new Dropbox for Android is rolling out to the Play Store over the next few days.
