Venmo finally gets two-factor authentication for iOS, Android and the Web

Social mobile payment app Venmo received an update today that will finally allow users to add two-factor authentication for added account security.

venmo 2faWith 2FA turned on, Venmo will alert users when sign-in activity is detected from a phone or browser not previously used to log into their account. The app will then give users the option to receive a six-digit temporary code sent to their mobile number to sign in.

Once log in is successful, they can opt to add the new browser or phone to their list of approved devices.

The update is live today on Android, iOS and Web versions of Venmo.
