Wunderlist gives its Windows and Windows Phone apps a refresh, with better performance and viewing options

Wunderlist gives its Windows and Windows Phone apps a refresh, with better performance and viewing options

Wunderlist has updated its cross-platform to-do app clients for Windows 7, 8 and Windows Phone 8, boasting better performance, new view options, live tile support and more.

While a Windows desktop client for Wunderlist has existed and received updates for a long while, the new app for Windows 7 is lighter and quicker by miles. I’ve long been a fan of Wunderlist, but have always found the aging desktop client to be sluggish and slow to respond – until now. This version loads, syncs and lets you add items and lists much faster than before, and the interface has also received a minor refresh so everything is easier to navigate.

The Windows 8 app, first released in September, now features Snapped View that lets the app sit on one side of your desktop to keep it visible even when you’re working on something else.

Live tile support allows you to add lists and smart lists to your Start screen on Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 devices, to display tasks at a glance without having to open the app.

Additionally, both apps now support push notifications and Facebook and Google+ sign in. They also have a calendar feed so you can drop Wunderlist tasks into your other calendars, and German developer 6Wunderkinder says that subtask and files management support have improved on both apps too.

The apps are available for free on the Wunderlist site now.
