Pebble releases a beta version of its appstore for Android devices

Pebble releases a beta version of its appstore for Android devices

Good news for Pebble owners who have an Android device — you can now download a beta version of the Pebble Android app that includes its appstore.

Earlier today, Pebble updated its iOS app to introduce its highly anticipated appstore which it formally announced at CES last month — but said it was “still fine tuning” the Android app, though it should be available in the near future.

The Pebble team cautions that as this is a beta release, there are some known issues they are already working on. These include some problems with the pairing process, being unable to configure an app if it’s running on your Pebble, and having to press the “Load” button on your smartphone before installing an app with the Pebble tool.

Calling for its users to help finalize the Android app, the Pebble team is asking those who download the beta to share any bugs they might encounter while downloading apps from the store. The company also issued an open call seeking Android developers to join the team.
