IFTTT introduces Facebook Groups Channel for easier sharing and tracking across groups

IFTTT, the service that automates actions on the Internet, now has a new Facebook Groups Channel which makes it easier for users to share and better track updates, photos and event information across their groups.

The new channel was added to IFTTT yesterday and allows users to automate certain group actions with different recipes, for example, to set it to automatically add events created in the Facebook group to a Google Calendar.

Other recipes available to use right away include automatically welcoming new group members, receiving an SMS when a new post is made in a Facebook group and automatically posting favorited items on Etsy to a Facebook group, among others. If none of those really excite you, there’s always the option to create your own.
