Nuance has announced that Swype, its perennially popular Android keyboard app, has received a slew of fresh features, and is also now available to download from the Amazon Appstore.
Swype now has enhanced bilingual support that lets users enter text in two selected languages, with suggested words automatically adjusting to the user’s language preference. Also, you can now personalize your keyboard for QWERTY, QWERTZ or AZERTY depending on your preferred lingo, as well as stipulate they keyboard’s size – this can include mini left/right keyboards for phablets, or even landscape for smaller devices. This is similar to what SwiftKey is currently rolling out too.
Additionally, the latest update features continuous dictation, letting you see words and phrases appear on your screen as you speak, and also choose a dictation language separately from the keyboard language. Accessibility has been given a boost too, through support for Android’s Talkback and Explore by Touch features.
