Podcast Gallery is a new website that lets you easily watch or listen to podcasts on desktop or mobile and quickly send episodes to your Dropbox and Google Drive accounts.
Developed by Digital Inspiration’s Amit Agarwal, the site has a sleek interface for finding new programs. Logging into Twitter or Facebook opens up the option of creating a collection of podcasts, which you can share to a wide range of services, including Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Tumblr. Alternatively, you can export a collection as an OPML file to drop into an RSS reader or podcast app.
The new service’s integration with Google Drive and Dropbox takes a lot of the pain out of consuming individual podcast episodes. From the gallery, just a couple clicks will send any program to your account once you’ve signed in, or you can just download the file directly. Sending an NPR episode to Google Drive took seconds, though Chrome nor the Google Drive iOS app were able to play the file. Saving the same file to Dropbox took just a few seconds and was playable in-browser.
Podcast Gallery uses an HTML5 player and is built on WordPress with the iTunes API.
For those of you who already have your podcast subscription flow set up, Podcast Gallery might just be a simple way to browse and discover new ones. If you’re just looking for single servings, the site’s cloud service integrations should make things really convenient.
