The latest version of Gmail for iOS is now available and with it comes a couple of new features. Nothing major, but you might be interested.
According to the Gmail Blog, the first thing that you’ll notice is that you can now have specific signatures for your accounts in the app.
“We’ve added the ability to set a custom signature for your mobile messages and a vacation responder, both available through the gear icon at the top of the menu view. We’ve also improved labels with support for nested labels”
There’s also a new notification sound, making sure that you can tell the difference when you get a new email versus any other notification. A handy addition, for sure, that more apps should include.
But what’s probably most surprising is this gem:
“In the Gmail app and Gmail for mobile you can now open up a canvas and scribble a message that will be attached to your email.”
Yep, you read that right. You can now have arts and crafts time inside of your Gmail app. Unfortunately, Google hasn’t yet provided multiple account support, the ability to send as or banner notifications. But now, if you’re going to gripe about the missing features, you can do so in a full-color picture, sent via email.
