Pixlr-o-Matic is like having Instagram in your browser

Pixlr-o-Matic is like having Instagram in your browser

If you love Instagram on your iPhone and want a great way to get that same toy camera feel on your computer, Pixlr-o-Matic is perfect for you. Better yet, you can do it from anywhere right in your browser. It’s a Chrome web app, so you’ll want to download that extension, but you can also just head to the website if you happen to not use Chrome.

You have the choice to upload photos or to take them with an attached webcam, as long as the Flash interface works for you. For me, it never does, so I had to rely on a locally-stored file.

There are three sections to manipulate, including color processing, some film effects and then borders. Once you’re finished, you can upload it to an included service or save it to your computer locally. I played around with the Pixlr-o-Matic with one of my own photos and thought you’d like to check out the results so here you go:
