Twitter for BlackBerry 1.1 goes beta with push, gesture support and much more

Still addicted to your CrackBerry? As many around the world are, RIM has just sent us a note letting us know that Twitter for BlackBerry has just gotten a new Beta version. 1.1 of the app brings in some much-requested features:

  • Push notifications for @ mentions
  • DM’s are now threaded BBM-style conversations
  • Hashtag autocomplete
  • Social Feeds integration
  • Retweet updates
  • Gesture support

If you want in on the new beta, you’ll need to log in at the BlackBerry Beta Zone. With over 10 million downloads of its software thus far, there’s no denying that RIM’s market is still huge on Twitter.

It’s worth noting that you’ll need a BlackBerry device running OS 4.5 or higher in order for the new beta to work. The new clean interface, notifications and DM changes should be welcome announcements for all.
