Movie recommendations, powered by Twitter? Mombo please!

With our undying love of streaming movie services like Netflix, it isn’t often that we pay a lot of attention to what’s being talked about on the TV ads. That’s a blessing and a curse, and one that Mombo is hoping to change.

Mombo is a movie recommendations site that tells you the movies your friends have been talking about, scans for ones that you might like, lets you vote on movies you’ve seen and of course gives you full access to reviews and trailers right on the site. This might be the best implementation of the Twitter API yet, and apparently we’re not the only ones who think it is cool.

While we could spend thousands of words writing about it, the best thing to do is give it a look, so here you go:
