Fox holding a developer contest for new “Fringe” app

Fox and the AppNation developer conference are holding a “Pimp my app” contest to develop a mobile app for the hit TV show “Fringe”. The contest is free to enter and the winer receives $10,000 – so not a bad deal at all.

The contest started yesterday and goes until September 3, and the winners will be announced at the AppNation conference on September 13-14.

According to the contest rules, Fox wants developers to get creative and mix things up, Fringe-style;

“We encourage you to include additional functionality and mash up your app with location-based services and components, augmented reality, streaming of real-time video and data, sharing and messaging functionality, and other added functionality and tools;”

The judging criteria (Fox will do all of the judging) includes ease of use; general look and feel; innovative features; and best use of the application technology to deepen consumer engagement with the Fringe brand.
So, if you’re a developer in this universe, will you bringing out your inner Walter to make the new Fringe app?
