Awesome. YouTube now lets you post public videos that don’t appear in search results.

This is a neat little feature.

There are some videos that just don’t want found. It’s not so much that they’re private but you just don’t like the idea of them appearing on search results and randomers watching them. At the same time, you don’t want to go through the pain and hassle of having to privatize videos which therefore means only your youtube ‘friends’ can watch them. Now there’s a solution,…unlisted videos.

Unlisted Videos lets you post a video that won’t appear in any of YouTube’s public pages, in search results, on your personal channel or on the browse page. “It’s a private video, except you don’t need a YouTube account to watch it and there is no limit to the number of people who can view it. ” explains a Software Engineer on the YouTube blog.

Neat. Makes sharing private-ish videos that much easier.
