Latest Facebook iPhone App Gets Push Notifications and Contact Sync

iphone-app-facebookIt’s been a long awaited feature but it’s finally here. The latest release of Facebook’s iPhone app, available now, features push notifications.

With an array of Twitter apps supporting the feature, this is something devoted Facebook users will clearly be delighted to play with – although Boxcar has supported it to a degree for some time.

Push notifications on the latest release allow you to get notified whenever friends comment on your shares or write on your wall.

The new release all features a Facebook friends and address book sync, again another feature other apps have offered, but having everything in one app makes all the difference.

Once you’ve logged in, the app will do the usual and request your approve to post push notifications. You’ll then see the option to sync your addressbook contacts with your Facebook ones, along with all the photos. This sync process should take a matter of minutes.
