Microsoft showed up to demo Apple’s new iPad

An unexpected guest was at the Apple September event today: Microsoft.

The company was the first third-party developer to get on stage and demonstrate its apps for the iPad Pro: Microsoft Office.

The company showed off the “amazing multitasking” found in the iPad which allows you to work on two documents at once… something the Surface also happens to do.

The irony of Microsoft being on stage wasn’t lost on the audience (or the staff here at TNW, which were just as surprised), which reacted with loud surprise that the company was getting up to demonstrate first.

It quickly looped through a demonstration of how well Office works on iPad and emphasise that the company now works cross-platform.
