Apple rolls out new Boot Camp version with support for Windows 10

Apple rolls out new Boot Camp version with support for Windows 10

Apple is now rolling out a new version of Boot Camp, the utility that lets you run Windows on the Mac.

The update is still propagating, MacRumors says, but it should be available soon to select 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pros, 11- and 13-inch MacBook Airs, the MacBook, Mac Mini, some iMacs and the 2013 Mac Pro.

The latest version, Boot Camp 6, supports Windows 10 (64-bit edition) plus USB 3, USB-C, Thunderbolt, built-in SD and SDXC connections, built-in or external Apple SuperDrives and the Apple mouse, keyboard and trackpad.

You will need to run OS X Yosemite and have an authentic copy of Windows 10 installed on a separate partition for all to go smoothly.

The update will download automatically for those running the latest version of Boot Camp 5.
