Apple gears up for iTunes Festival with the return of a dedicated Apple TV channel and updated app

As the date for its iTunes Festival draws near, Apple has once again added a channel to the Apple TV to live stream the event, and also updated its dedicated iOS app.

The iTunes festival is made up of a series of performances that take place every night in September at The Roundhouse in London. You can’t buy tickets; instead they are given away through local competitions held in certain countries —  though the event is streamed free to iOS devices worldwide through the Apple TV and the app.

It was revealed in May that the 60-plus acts slated to take part in the month-long string of gigs this year include Justin Timberlake, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Jack Johnson and Jessie J.
