Apple has today released the eighth version of its iOS 5 beta to developers. This new version is the Gold Master or GM build of iOS 5, this is usually the final version before official release of an iOS version.
iOs 5 is set to be released next week on Wednesday, October 12th.
The iOs 5 beta build is version 9A334. Apple has also released Xcode 4.2 Gold Master build 4D199 to developers.
The iOS 5 beta is available for download now on the Apple Developer site. Note that Apple requires that you have a developer account and a device registered on the site in order to download and install iOS 5.
This new version of iOS 5 contains features of iOS like iMessages, Twitter, Setup and Notification Center, iCloud and alerts. It also contains the Siri assistant feature announced today, but that is compatible only with Apple’s iPhone 4S, a new device being released on October 14th and available for pre-order on October 7th.
