The presence of the Apple Online Store in these countries means that customers residing there will now be able to buy Apple’s products online directly from the company with 1-click ordering and free shipping on most purchases. Among other benefits, the online stores allow them to customise their Macs before buying them and let them get their iPad, iPhone and iPod engraved for free and sent as a beautifully wrapped gift to others.
The stores are advertised on the home pages of Apple’s website in those countries and are open for customers starting today. The launch of these four new stores brings Apple’s total tally of country-specific online stores to 38. The company first opened the virtual doors of its online store in 1997, less than a year after acquiring NeXT and bringing Steve Jobs onboard.
