Buying an iPad 2? Check out this sexy wooden cover

With Apple’s newest tablet hitting 25 countries tomorrow, many of us will be shopping around for iPad 2 gear tonight. We’ve all seen Apple’s Smart Cover that stick onto the iPad 2 through the use of magnets which seemed very cool… until we got a peek at Miniot’s new wooden covers.

A Holland-based company called Miniot have designed a sexy iPad 2 cover that also poses as a kickstand in either portrait or landscape mode. It’s sculpted from a single piece of wood and carefully lined with magnets that enable it  to completely cover the iPad’s screen. The demo was created using cherry wood but we’re assuming you’ll be able to order it in more flavours like walnut and maple. As it’s shown in the video, the cover has the ability to fold back which transforms the case into a stand as well.

It looks gorgeous and comes with a free personal engraving when ordered from Miniot’s official site. The covers cost €50 (about 70 bucks U.S.) and start shipping tomorrow. If you’re a fan of these wooden accessories, Miniot has an entire collection of beautiful iPhone cases made from real maple, walnut and cherry wood.
