uberVU Adds Sentiment to Social Media Analytics

ubervulogoSocial media analytics startup uberVU has launched a radically refreshed version of its online toolset and moves away from the free service associated with earlier releases.

uberVU 2.0 sees the service transform itself into a powerful social media metrics dashboard aimed at SMEs, startups and web-savvy brand managers.

As well as crystal clear, up to the minute, statistics on your favourite search terms, the app also provides deep integration with several  major social media platforms.

Not only can you read what people are saying about you or your brand, you can dive right in and open up the conversation, wherever it’s happening on Twitter, Facebook or other networks, all from within the uberVU app itself.

Gone is the old interface, which even the uberVU team admit had become a little confusing.  In its place is a clean and orderly page which summarises the high level information about your search above the current conversations happening out there on the social web.

As a user you are calmly directed to drill down into more detail on the conversations and analytics as well as beeing able to create a range of bright, high impact reports on the fly.

Big news is the addition of ‘sentiment’ to the analysis of your company or brand.  It’s all very well knowing that people are discussing you or your product, but not so good if they only have bad things to say.  uberVU now enables you to track the overall sentiment being expressed through positive and negative mentions within conversations, so you can keep track of things even when you haven’t time respond to every new idea, comment or suggestion.

Commercially, the biggest change for uberVU is the shift from its previously free service, to a  new paid-for business model.

In creating its new suite of more valuable and powerful real-time analysis tools, the team has introduced paid-for accounts for the first time.

However, existing users with free accounts will get to try the new service for the next three months after which they’ll be asked to sign up for a paid-for account, currently priced at $49.99 per month.

uberVU is set to join a host of the rising digital start-ups at this year’s SXSW Interactive as part of the UK Digital Mission.
