An Update on Google Wave Federation

An Update on Google Wave Federation

patienceOn Friday we reported live from eComm Europe about Google’s plans to open up Wave for federation, allowing third party Wave servers to interact with Google’s own infrastructure.

Since then the article has received a great deal of attention proving once more the enormous amount of interest of the community in Google’s new communication tool.

As we’ve not seen an official announcement, yet, we’ve contacted David Wang and asked for an update. David, who is the lead architect behind Google Wave, told us that the Sydney team is still working hard to sort out some details but plans to open up Google Wave for federation shortly have not changed.

Seems as if we’ve got to sit tight and wait a bit more. We stay in close touch with the Wave team over in Sydney and will make sure to let you know once you can start connecting your servers!
