Nokia announces its first netbook – and it looks impressive (Video)

Nokia Booklet 3GIn a move that’s been speculated on for months, Nokia has today announced it is to move into the netbook market.

The specs for the Nokia Booklet 3G are impressive: 12 hour battery life, 3G/HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, HDMI port (for HD video out), 10″ glass HD-ready display and integrated A-GPS.

Nokia will give full details about pricing and when you can get your hands on it next week, but seeing as it appears to be running Windows 7 in the video below, no earlier than October (when Windows 7 is officially launched) would make sense.

Additionally, it will support Nokia’s suite of Ovi services – already well supported by many of its smartphones, and fully sync data with Nokia handsets.

The 3G capability is noteworthy – not many netbooks have the ability to add a SIM Card directly. Vodafone’s version of the Dell Mini 9, with a built in SIM, is the only one available on the UK market for example.
