Nimbuzz Looks to Dominate Mobile Messaging with Entrance into Italian Market

nimbuzz-logoNimbuzz is a mobile social messenging client, combining instant messaging  and VoIP across popular messaging services. The application is free and is available on the mobile, iPhone, PC and web.

The Dutch company recently announced an impressive partnership with StudVZ, Germany’s largest social network. Today however they announce another notable agreement with prominent Italian social network Giovani.it.

With over 2 million users, Giovani.it and and sister portals Studenti.it and Girlpower.it, will promote Nimbuzz’s social messaging features through their sites and share advertising revenue.

Nimbuzz CEO Evert Jaap Lugt has said:

“Partnering with Giovani.it is the perfect way for Nimbuzz to achieve a strong Italian brand and quickly generate new users. Strategic deals such as this also strengthen our advertising proposition as we become an integral part of an active and social community.”

Founded in January 2007, Nimbuzz has raised over $25 million in three rounds, mostly from Luxembourg-based Mangrove Capital Partners.

The social messaging platform has experienced phenomenal growth of recent, registering a new user ever 3-4 seconds thanks to newly established partnerships with Toshiba and RIM, as well as winning the extremely prestigious Red Herring Global 100 Award.
