The world doesn’t ‘get’ Japan and Kei Shimada wants to change that

The world doesn’t ‘get’ Japan and Kei Shimada wants to change that

We didn’t have a ‘best ears’ competition at The Next Web Conference Europe 2013, but if we did, Kei Shimada would have won.

Shimada is director of business development at Japanese advertising and PR giant Dentsu. He thinks the world doesn’t know enough about the technological advances coming out of Japan – a traditionally insular nation – and he wants to change that.

We’ll share his talk from the conference here on The Next Web soon, but as an appetizer, check out his interview with our own Paul Sawers here – and if you want to know why he’s wearing strange, moving cat ears, you’ll have to watch through to the end.

Don’t miss the rest of our coverage from The Next Web Conference Europe 2013.
