Square now offers its point-of-sale card payments service and e-commerce platform in Spanish

Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, so it should come as no surprise that Square wants to attract native speakers to its mobile point-of-sale card reader service. Starting today, Square Register – the iPhone, iPad and Android app that businesses can use to accept card payments in-store, is now available in Spanish.

The web-based dashboard, which shows recent payments, reports for staff and transactions, and the option to customize loyalty programs, has also been updated with the new language option. Outside of bricks-and-mortar businesses, Square also supports Spanish throughout Square Market now – a platform that enables companies in the US to sell their goods online.

If you own a store in Madrid or Barcelona however, tough luck. Square is only available in the US, Canada and Japan at the moment, so this new language support is aimed specifically at Latino sellers in the States.
