HP announces the worlds first web connected printer. Browse and print from your printer.A web-connected printer you say? Yes, I was a little puzzled at first, but it makes a little more sense after you’ve watched HP’s demo video.

What HP have announced today is the HP Photosmart Premium with TouchSmart Web, essentially a browser within a printer. A way to print maps, web pages, news and more without needing to connect it to a computer. As apps are all the rage at the moment, HP are jumping on the bandwagon with (more…)

Samsung releases its latest 12.2 megapixel, HD-shooting camera next week -- the WB1000. Being a Monday Morning Madness post (a weekly ritual of ours, in case you weren’t unaware), this post isn’t specifically about the camera but rather about the gadgets remarkable packaging.

Now, what we don’t know is whether this is genuine or merely a very clever viral video to attract attention to the camera -- either way, its ingenious and definitely worth a minute of your time.

The HyperMac is an external MacBook battery pack that works with all Apple Macbooks including Pro and Air. The pack is available in 4 different capacities, 60Wh, 100Wh, 150Wh and 222Wh, and capable of powering your mac for up to 32 hours.

HyperMac: an external battery to power (and charge) your MacBook for up to 32 hours.

There are two stand out features:

1. The HyperMac’s also supports the original Apple MagSafe connectors, ensuring that your actual Mac’s internal battery is recharged too.

2. Whats more, the HyperMac features a USB port making it a piece of cake to charge devices that support USB recharging as well as your Mac.

The battery varies in price between $199.95 for the 60Wh and $499.95 for the 222Wh. There’s also a car charger for powering up your Mac on the go for $150. Fortunately, it appears you can order from abroad as long as you’re willing to pay for shipment.

The devices can be pre-ordered now and are expected to ship by the end of the month.

Order from the HyperDrive.com site.

10 tips for the ultimate digital road warrior bagNext to being an Internet Entrepreneur I also consider myself a true mobile worker. I started my first company in a bar in Amsterdam and started my second company, HubHop – a WiFi hotspot provider – so I could work anywhere with WiFi.

Being a mobile worker requires good preparation. I bought a TUMI bag years ago to protect my Powerbook/MacBook Pro. As you might know the TUMI has lots of hidden pockets in which you can store stuff. I decided to compile a list of things that every Mobile Worker should have in his bag to turn any place into a temporary office. Built on years of experience I hope it is useful for you:

1: Gadget Kit
Laptop (with DVD player for long flights), iPhone/iPod, Digital Camera.

2: Emercency Back-up Kit
USB Stick, Spare Keys, Laptop Lock, Spare Batteries (laptop, phone + other stuff), one or two rewritable CDs or DVDs, Food (stuck in meeting, airport or traffic!), Original Laptop Installation CD/DVD.

3a: Cable Kit
Ethernet, Monitor/projector adapters, Airplane Power adapter, Adapters for Phone, Laptop and Other Gadgets, Spare iPod/iPhone Headset.

3b: Cable Kit
The most important cable you might want to pack is a cheap power extension cord. I have one that is almost 4 meters long and it is my most used gadget. Most places have wireless internet but the power sockets are always inconveniently hidden somewhere. A simple extension cord gives you a lot more freedom!

4: Medical First Aid Kit
Aspirin, Sleeping pills (lethal dose to escape boring meetings), Cough Suppress Pills (Mints/Drops/Anything that works for you), Bandages.
(Optional: tampons and/or condoms).

5: Personal Hygiene Kit
Toothbrush and Toothpaste (Take mini set from plane or hotelroom) and/or Mints and/or Chewing Gum, Toothpick and Floss, Nail file and Nailclipper, Comb, Small Mirror.

6: Papers
Passport, Businesscards, 3 ballpoints, 1 Permanent Marker, Notebook (moleskine), Book or Magazine (for when batteries are empty (inevitable) and you are bored), 4 Paperclips (to eject disks, sim cards from iPhones or poke between teeth when bored).

7: Assorted Tools Kit
Leatherman/pocket knife, Screwdriver, Tie rips, Ziplock Bag (for storing liquids such as drinks, beauty products and vomit), small umbrella.

8: Money Kit
Spare Change, 100 Dollar/Euro/British Pounds, Credit Card Emercency Numbers, Electronic Banking Identifier Gizmo.

9: Other Accesories
Sunglasses, Eye Cover (so you can sleep in the airplane) & ear plugs, Inflatable Neck Rest Device.

10: Anti-Gravity Engine
Because your bag, filled with all this stuff, now weighs at least 200 kilos!

Please send me your suggestions and let me know what else you keep in YOUR work bag.

Readybot; R2D2’s ancestor will clean your house

Clean the kitchen, pick up and sort all the toys, clean out the garbage, water the plants and wipe the table. That is what the Readybot, Roomba’s bigger sister, will be able to do in your house while you are away. This is clearly version 0.1, as you can see in the movie, but with a little imagination you can easily see this evolve into R2D2. The head is there and the arms too. Now all we need is a little speed and more intelligence and the ability to accept or deny friendsrequests on Facebook on your behalf.

Apple - iPhone - Gallery - 360I’m sure that if there would have been a ‘Buy’ button at my local Apple store for the new iPhone I would have clicked it today.

Check the new features:

3G, Push email, calendar, and contacts with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and new MobileMe patform. Maps with GPS which shows you where all your contacts are. New apps available through built in App Store. Only $199 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB model.

Available everywhere in the world starting July 11. The only thing I gotta figure out is who will get what color here at home. I’m guessing white for Tessa to go with her MacBook and Black for me. What do you think?

Will you be able to resist?
