Ever wanted to receive a tweet from outer space?

Ever wanted to receive a tweet from outer space?

final_500px_gWell, it’s not exactly from outer space but the experience is pretty close: A Dutch team grouped around internationally acclaimed and award-winning freelance astronomy writer Govert Schilling has put together the pretty interesting mashup: Twisst.

In short what Twisst does is it sends out a personalized tweet to you whenever the International Space Station crosses the heaven above you.

To enjoy these alerts from outer space you’ve got to have your geolocation available somewhere in your Twitter profile and start following the @twisst account. That’s it.

Give it a try, chances are you can even spot the ISS when being notified ahead of time. Don’t forget to let us know your personal ISS sighting experiences in the comments!
