Twitter surpasses MySpace in the UK

Twitter overtook MySpace for the first time last week with 1 in every 400 UK internet visits says online analysis firm HitWise.

Twitter is currently ranked as the 27th most visited site in the UK, now one position above MySpace. This is a rise of over 200 positions since January of this year, where Twitter was placed 291st in the list of most visited sites in the UK.

Of course this doesn’t take into account visits to Twitter using third party applications, an enormous aspect to twitter and one that, if accounted for, would see Twitter rise even further up the rankings.
