Very slick and neatly put together. I think it was in the recent Virtual Revolution documentary series on the BBC (superb look at the Internet) which commented on the risk that we will become shut off in our little bubbles of products and brands which are targeted at us because we already like them and have indicated so on our social media profiles. We will never try anything new?
Personally though, I like the idea that ever I will only see products and brands that I am interested in – it’s whether the filters are accurate or not.
Yeah, it was a fantastic documentary series. I personally think new brands will find it easier to be discovered and grow thanks to Social Media. It’s going to vary from person to person how infatuated they become with certain brands – that said, companies like Apple have nailed the art with very little social media activity whatsoever. But I digress…it’s going to be an interesting period the next few years but I can’t see Social Media putting an end to our decision to move from one company/brand to another when there are better products or opportunities out there.
