This video is depressing, but reminds us that Facebook statuses can be lies

This maybe isn’t one to watch if you’re already at a low ebb, but filmmaker Shaun Higton has created this short film about a man who embellishes his online Facebook statuses.

For example, ‘Sushi with girlfriend tonight <3‘ in reality is a miserable looking couple tucking into what looks like a TV dinner. And things soon escalate.

The moral of the story? “Facebook can be depressing because everyone else’s lives are better than yours… but are they really?,” the film’s tagline asks, somewhat rhetorically.
