What position left?
Indeed. Some nice diagrams, but they would have been considerably more useful alongside some advice about seating positions which reduce strain.
Laptops are evil.
“Laptops are evil.”
Carolyn, you ever want to take your work out of your main workspace? (I should have asked first whether you’ve ever done freelance work.) Being able to get away from my desk: outside my home-studio, or just to another room, makes the laptop–contrary to your take–a Godsend.
This doesn’t deny the fact that laptops are rather evil, just a convenient evil.
I work primarily from a laptop. I’m on a client site atm, sat outside their door in the break-out area (shared facilities). Currently observing position 6. And I can feel the strain. Inside I’ve got a slightly more ergonomic setup.
Convenient – yes? Evil – definitely.
The only good position is laying on your back with the laptop on your stomach?
Thanks TheNextWeb! Very valuable information.
I agree that this doesn’t leave a whole lot left. The whole point of a netbook is that it’s small and you can use it anywhere.
How many people type on laptops while standing?
so how da fuk should i check my emails?
