That was quick: Russia has lifted its Reddit ban

After blocking Reddit completely yesterday, Russia has already lifted the ban it had imposed. According to a post on Roskomnadzor’s official Facebook page, after it was able to contact Reddit admins, the site agreed to block the specific post from being viewed in Russia.

Roskomnadzor had stated that it previously attempted to get in contact with Reddit officials in response to posts that hosted information on how to cultivate narcotics. The ban resulted from that post not being removed, and obviously worked as a way to get the admin’s attention.

Roskomnadzor stated it hopes to have better communication with the Reddit admins to prevent the viewing of any content deemed inappropriate by the Federal Service.
