John Donahoe II is president and CEO of eBay Inc..
In his third employment chapter, he oversees eBay's 2 modules : eBay Marketplaces, and PayPal.
In March 2005 he was hired as president of eBay Marketplaces. His role is to focus on eBay's core business, which accounts for a large percentage of the company's revenues. He made Forty acquisitions, including Shopping.com and StubHub, and the classifieds sites Gumtree and LoQUo, and most recently, Shutl.
His second stretch in the working world > he occupied Bain & Company for 20 years, starting as an associate consultant, becoming the firm's president and CEO in 1999.
In his first stint in the working world, after his senior year of high school, a friend?s dad asked him to work at his Schlitz beer distribution company. ?You?ll make good money,? he said. He was in. It was a union job and the first requirement was that he join the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
He serves on eBay Inc. and Intel Corp. Board of Directors.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth, and received an MBA from the Stanford Business School.
