Hands-on with Nokia’s new Lumia 820 [Photos]

We’ve digested the ‘Switch to Lumia’ keynote and also had time to take a look at Nokia’s new Lumia 920 flagship. Luckily for us (and hopefully you), we were able to take a look at the Lumia 820 too, a device that is able to match its bigger counterpart in many areas.

Like the Lumia 920, the Lumia 820 runs Windows Phone 8 and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor. It has a 4.3in Clearblack 480 x 800 display, 1GB RAM and houses a slot for microSD cards, alongside a standard 8GB of internal storage. For photographers, the Lumia 820 also has an 8 megapixel camera on the back, enhanced with Carl Zeiss optics, as well as full HD (1080p) video capture at 30 frames per second.

All Killer, No Filler

Visually the Lumia 820 uses a new, interchangeable shell design, allowing consumers to switch between a striking array of colours at any time. Confirmed colors so far are red, yellow, grey, cyan, purple, white and black – plenty of options for anyone who easily gets tired of their smartphone’s appearance.

Wireless charging also comes to the Lumia 820, but you’ll need a special shell case to enable it.

While we press for more hands-on time with the device, why not whet your with apetite by looking at our gallery embedded below and read all about the new handset here:
