About to launch a killer new iOS app? Then the 3rd annual App Star Awards wants you

Are you new to the app development or are just about to release a new iOS application and want it to reach the audience you think it deserves, then the 3rd annual App Star Awards could be exactly what you are looking for.

The event, which is run by app discovery service Appsfire, specifically calls for new and unreleased apps, helping to give them the perfect launch platform and reward developers with both an iPad and a free advertising campaign.

This year, the App Star Awards have some very prestigious partners. Not only are GigaOm, TechCrunch, 148Apps, AppAdvice, PocketGamer, ShowYou and iPhon.fr involved in the competition, The Next Web will also be judging the contest — providing useful feedback and suggestions for each app.

The <3 of EU tech

The latest rumblings from the EU tech scene, a story from our wise ol' founder Boris, and some questionable AI art. It's free, every week, in your inbox. Sign up now!

If you are an iOS developer, all you have to do is pre-register here and then you will be alerted when the contest goes live, starting in May. Each app will be reviewed, with judges picking the three best app submissions.

If you have an app due for launch in May (or very soon), this could be the perfect opportunity to give it the springboard it needs to achieve download success.

Just make sure you have a video demo of your app ready, as it will not only be used for judging purposes but it will featured in a special channel on ShowYou a very popular video app for iPhone and iPad.
