Samsung becomes first advertiser to run ads on YouTube’s mobile site

New Media Age is reporting that electronics giant Samsung will be the first advertiser to ever run display ads on YouTube’s mobile portal today, with the company running campaigns for its Galaxy Tab tablet computer on the popular video site.

The campaign, named Life Without Limits, centers on the tablets’ form factor and portability, highlighting its comparitive lightness against other devices like Apple’s iPad and will be also be featured across in-game deals with PlayStation, via online search sponsorship, on mobile and in print.

Samsung will display four different ad formats over a 24 hour period, linking to the dedicated mobile Galaxy Tab YouTube page.

Samsung believe YouTube’s mobile portal will become “one of the UK’s leading mobile advertising platforms” and with an estimated 100m mobile video playbacks per day, they might be right.
