Our speculative Samsung Galaxy Tab posts have come to end dear readers, for we now have an official launch date for the device and a pretty slick promotional video to go with it.
We received an email into our inboxes this afternoon telling us that the “newest innovation of Samsung Mobile is just on the horizon”, giving us a link to the official Galaxy Tab microsite now live over at http://galaxytab.samsungmobile.com/.
The video shows us what we can expect from the tablet device and ends with a date; September 2nd. That’s the IFA Expo in Berlin, the event we suggested would be where the Galaxy Tab would eventually be unveiled until we got confirmation today.
I, for one, am loving the Transformer-esque trailer. What about you?

And the tablet wars continue! Gives iPad and Kindle something to think about. I can’t wait to see and hear more about the device.
Interesting to see whether 10″ or 7″ proves to be the size of choice. Samsung got it right with the netbooks – going for 10″ when others were making them 7″. Have they got it right this time?
Looking forward to playing on one!
I was one of the first to get a 10″ Sammy netbook… and I still love it, but don’t want to haul it round all the time…
I think the 7″ tab will be perfect for carrying in my purse… can’t wait for it.
I delayed buying the Epic 4G to see when it will be available in the states, and would even switch to the hated (by me) verizon to get it…
Just to put these number in perspective, Apple sells 8M iPhones a quarter. If Samsung really manages to sell 10M Galaxy S by the end of the year, it’ll sell around 30% as many Androids as Apple sells iPhones. Now, apple might increase the iPhone sales rate, but we need to remember that the Galaxy only came out in the second quarter.
Very impressive achievement for Samsung.
