SF41252 260x141 HTC Launches Brand In China, Announces Android and Windows Mobile Handsets HTC has just announced it will be launching its first set of HTC-branded handsets in China, bringing four new smartphone devices to the Chinese market in a partnership with China Mobile.

The Taiwan-based manufacturer also announced an alliance with China’s largest electronics distributor GOME Electrical Appliances Holding Ltd whilst dropping the Dopod brand from its handsets in the process.

As a result of this venture, HTC will release four handsets into the Chinese market; the HTC Tianxi, HTC Tianyi, HTC Desire and HTC Wildfire, all outfitted with Sense UI; HTC’s own user interface for Android and Windows Mobile devices.

HTC’s entry into China signifies the companies desire to increase its worldwide market share and capture new customers in a market that is experiencing huge growth at the moment. China certainly is a huge market for HTC with the county’s mobile companies focusing on delivering localised TD-SCDMA networks, laying the foundation for an all out assault by the smartphone giant.
