Microsoft updates Office Mix presentation tools with raft of new features

Microsoft updates Office Mix presentation tools with raft of new features

Microsoft has today announced a raft of updates for its still new Office Mix presentation and teaching tools.

Among the new features is an option to pause recording part way through, to ensure you pick your words correctly and say exactly what you mean, and a new ‘erase ink’ feature, if you want to carry on dictating over the same slide but add new content to it.

There’s also a new search feature that makes it easier to find ‘mixes’ that interest you, which allows for breakdown by category, topic, tag or author.

With the update, Microsoft is looking to refine the way the presentation and teaching platform is used in order to increase engagement with the total volume of ‘mixes’, which makes sense. A higher quality end product should drive more use of the platform overall. It hasn’t been available widely for all that long either; it only launched out of private beta in May this year.

Whether or not it will continue life as a standalone product, or be rolled more closely into PowerPoint is anyone’s guess right now, though.
