A set of street scrawls in support of the Surface

Microsoft enjoys street art. Really, it does Recall back to the Windows Phone sidewalk stenciling that got it in a touch of trouble.

The company is at it again in a major way, doodling up the sides of buildings with partially explained images of the Surface. Microsoft’s Surface line of tablets are set to debut, partially, along with the Windows 8 operating system. Microsoft has publicly declared its intention to sell a few million of the devices in its first year.

This post is only possible due to the excellent work of both NeoWin and SurfaceEvangelist. Both have been vigilant in finding and posting about the images. I’ve collected what I think is the complete list of the ads as they underscore two facts: Microsoft, despite being publicly demure about how many Surface’s it wants to sell, is hitting the streets to hock them, and secondly that the company apparently wants to be Bansky.

Microsoft appears to be using the tag line ‘click in’ as part of the Surface branding, something that is new to us. So, are you going to buy one of the devices? Let us know in the comments.
