We all know how successful Bill Gates has become through his work at Microsoft, but not many of us know the stories about his first interaction with a computer.

A young Bill Gates was lucky enough to be able to gain access to a computer via teletype link, thanks to a local Seattle company. Apparently, he would leave his home at night to go explore this new amazing tool with friend Paul Allen.

The rest, as they say, is history. Watch Bill Gates first encounter with a computer as a youngster sans glasses:

We’ve come a long way in the world of home computers, and had Bill Gates not interacted with this “primitive” machine, we might still be accessing a computer through what appeared to be a typewriter.
