Netflix becomes first online TV firm to win a primetime Emmy

hocNetflix continued to break new ground for the online TV industry after it scooped its first primetime Emmy Award as David Fincher, who directed Netflix-exclusive ‘House of Cards’ series, won the ‘best directing of a drama series’ category — as CNET reports.

The US company also won casting and cinematography Emmy Awards for ‘House of Cards’, but they were given out prior to this evening’s glitzy, celebrity-filled ceremony.

Netflix has previously won technology and engineering Emmys, but this one sees it trump its broadcast and cable rivals in a more celebrated category.
