Netflix in talks with Arrested Development producers for a fifth season

Netflix in talks with Arrested Development producers for a fifth season

Netflix already made Arrested Development fans’ dreams come true by bringing back the show for a new season, and it’s currently in discussions for another round. Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, who serves as one of the producers of the series, told Bloomberg (via The Verge) that talks have been taking place.

“We are in conversations with them to do another,” he reportedly said. “[Netflix is] interested in doing that.”

Netflix released the fourth season of Arrested Development in late May roughly seven years after it was cancelled. The company stated during its last earnings conference call in April that original programming has so far been a winning strategy for it. Netflix originals House of Cards and Hemlock Grove have both attracted strong viewer numbers.

If Arrested Development does come back for more, it’ll put hope in the hearts of TV fans looking for their own favorite series to make a comeback. Between Kickstarter and Netflix, shows are starting to get a new lease on life.
