Is Google finally taking the Middle East seriously?

Is Google finally taking the Middle East seriously?

We have raised this question before. But until recently, we’ve had nothing but speculations.

Google’s tiny marketing and sales teams in the UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia seems to be expanding as Google is actually hiring more resources in the region! Looks like Google Day and the Maktoob/Yahoo! acquisition have indeed shaken some of their not-so-solid ground.

According to ArabCrunch, Google was looking for Head of Arabia – Emerging EMEA, who’s job description would be to develop a business plan for Google in the region and decide which markets to focus on. Google is also looking for a Regional Marketing Manager, Middle East & North Africa (MENA), Policy Manager MENA and Enterprise Account Manager, MENA.

Anyone up for it? Are we Buzzing in Arabic soon?
