The cool thing about an iPad magazine is that you can download the apps we review here, with a single click.
So. Much. Tech.
Some of the biggest names in tech are coming to TNW Conference in Amsterdam this May.
Trusty and reliable usually are two characteristics we don’t use to describe iPhone apps. But unsurprisingly, Time Inc’s breaks the digital mold. The app powers up at lightning speed to a scrolling newsfeed of the most dynamic stories. Categories bolded in a fiery red and a lightbox option to view the media from right to left make this app one for your home screen. Browse through the articles, which you can update in real time, and add them to the app’s List feature. Or, if you’re searching for that hot topic (zombies, anyone?), select the Popular tab, where the app’s various users may have already flagged it for you. Time Inc, yet another big thumbs-up from us.
Pro Party Planner
PR professionals and BFFs of the bride, meet Zysco’s Pro Party Planner app.
This app packs a whole lot of features into a deceivingly simplistic layout. Users log the number of guests they’re expecting and invite them using their address book or email list, make e-lists in a custom tab, and track every detail, from decorating the venue, to shopping for the party within the pre-made budget you set. (…And who doesn’t want to stick to a budget these days?)
There’s not much this app doesn’t do. It even allows you to filter items like menu choices to specific attendees — for those vegan, no-soy, no-gluten friends in your midst. Now, all you need is to remember to blow those balloons.
System Status app
Web developers may be biased coding professionals, but most can all agree on one thing: a love of the System Status app. Users can successfully manage their iPhone or iPad’s battery life, media consumption, storage, network connections in one easy interface using a system log. Boost your load time and storage space with the app that does it all, and saves you time while doing it. Just don’t forget to reboot your iPhone every once in a while. Oh, and snap your head up — you’re still halfway in the real world.
Tips & Tricks iPad Secrets app
Unless you’re Steve Jobs, you probably could use the Tips & Tricks: iPhone secrets apps. This trusty app tells you everything you know, and a lot of things you probably don’t about how to use your latest Apple addiction. See Google’s street views while using the Maps app, learn to take the best screenshot ever, and discover a million other nitty gritty things you didn’t think were possible on an iPhone. Basically, you’ll feel like a genius…until you remember the guy who actually invented this thing.
Scanner Pro App
…And those Droid users said your iPhone couldn’t do everything. Scan multiple-page documents, presentations, even posters, to your iPhone and upload them to Dropbox. Perfect for the corporate jetsetter not looking to add a bulky file to his briefcase. Or the college senior with a heap of finals notes scrambled together. (Just don’t cheat, kid.)
