How to be the first to Tweet our stories out

How to be the first to Tweet our stories out

A few months ago we started noticing that some people were very fast in retweeting some of our posts. Sometimes they retweeted stuff we didn’t even tweet out ourselves. At first we imagined these red-eyed super-fans reloading our site every second to be the first to retweet stuff, but then we noticed that some of these tweets were generated by TwitterFeed. It turns out that you can use practically any public RSS Feed, set-up an account at TwitterFeed, connect that to Twitter, and have that news tweeted to your account.

If you want to be the first to always tweet out our Shareables, or Google news, or just any post we publish simply head over to Twitterfeed and follow their instructions. If you are being asked for an RSS feed use one of these:

http://feeds2.feedburner.com/thenextweb
(all our stories, English language only)

http://feeds2.feedburner.com/thenextwebtopstories
(all stories with more than 100 retweets)

TwitterFeed also allows you to post updates to facebook so you could try that too.

Besides TwitterFeed there is also dlvr.it which does a similar thing. You can try them both out and see which one you like best. Options are mainly the same but the interfaces are very different.

We are currently developing a tool to make it even easier to pick our interesting stories. Let us know what you think about the option to be the first to tweet breaking stuff and popular stories in the comments.

Lets us know if you’ve set-up one of these services to retweet our stuff. We would love to hear from you!
