Slack now lets you alert the people who are online instead of waking everyone up

Slack now lets you alert the people who are online instead of waking everyone up

Until now, sending a message in a Slack channel to @everyone would bring you a warning that you were about to fire out a notification across time zones that might wake some people up.

Now there’s a new feature that lets you direct your shout at just the ones who are online. Type ‘@here’ before your message and it’ll notify team members who are active and ready for action, leaving your slumbering pals in peace.

Nice one, Slack. Much more useful than emoji faving (though that’s turning out to be pretty cool).
