At its cloud computing event today, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced that the company would be offering up its Azure cloud computing service to assist in Ebola research.
Essentially, the company is handing out grants to provide successful applicants with Azure’s processing power for easing access to services and data healthcare workers and researchers may need.
In order to make use of the award, applicants should be associated with an academic institution and submit a proposal for how they intend to use the service.
With growing concerns about the potential for the disease to spread, its a nice gesture by the company to help streamline research for scientists and workers on tight budgets.
